The farming kibbutzim and moshavim in the south of Israel were among the many who suffered from the blunt force and tragic traumas of the initial attack by Hamas and the unprecedented massacre that occurred on October 7, 2023.
Many have lost their families, their neighbors, and their workers to the savagery of Hamas. Still more, many people were taken hostage. This includes the farmers' Thai workers. They too, were horrifically murdered, taken hostage, or at the very least managed to flee - leaving farmers with few or no workers to run a productive farm.
